Chania is the nearest airport (you may see it written as Xania or Hania). This is an easy half-hour drive away, depending on traffic.

The airport is your easiest option because of regular flights on a Tuesday from most UK main & regional airports (except Scotland). This is why most of the villa rental market in West Crete is geared towards Tuesday/Tuesday bookings. If you can organise your holiday to start on a Tuesday you are more likely to get the availability you require.

The alternative airport is Heraklion. Compared to Chania, flights may be slightly cheaper, and there is a wide choice of arrival dates. However, the drive is longer - we have managed it in 1 hour 40 minutes on a late night run - but it is an easy straight road across the island and can normally be achieved in under 2 hours.

Tuesday flights to Chania from: Birmingham, Gatwick, Manchester & Newcastle airports.

Tuesday flights to Heraklion from: Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Newcastle, Humberside, East Midlands, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Stansted & Exeter airports.

If you cannot manage a Tuesday, our villa owner members will still try to accommodate you, especially in the early and late times of the season. Please email or phone your requirements and they will try to be flexible. You may have to pay extra to compensate for 'lost' rental days, but rates are cheaper in the early and later season and you may find the extra cost to be acceptable, especially if you are sharing the villa cost with friends.

NEW! Easyjet has bought GB Airways which currently offers scheduled direct flights from Manchester/Gatwick to Heraklion. Hopefully they will continue to offer a selection of dates between April and October - watch this space!
